Hey there! You probably made your way to this page hoping to find out a bit about what sort of person came up with Freal Fitness and what it’s all about. Or maybe you just clicked in the wrong place and ended up here accidentally. If you’re the latter, I think you ought to stay here anyway and just take it as a sign from the universe that there’s something here you need to know.
On the other hand, if you came here on purpose, let me give you a peek into me. My name is Rachel Fierro, and I am all about being healthy, fit and strong. I’ve been described as a fitness-fanatic by some and a total nut by others. For the most part I would have to agree. I absolutely love the outdoors, being active, working up a sweat, playing sports, staying fit, and, most of all, having fun doing it.
When I was young, I loved all the get-dirty, active fun that most kids do. Climbing rocks, trees or over my house. Mud fights or football games in the yard. The thing is that I never really grew out of it. Being active, getting dirty, and having good physical fun are still my favorite ways to spend my time. I play soccer, love to run, hike, backpack, travel to out of the way places, and bike. If it sounds like fun, I’m there. If it’s physical and challenging, sign me up. I’m up for adventures of all kinds – the more unusual the better.
A few years back, while leading one of my outdoor fitness groups, one of my clients said, “Rachel, you are totally freal.” I took it as a huge compliment then and hope it always describes me in every way – totally genuine in every part of my life and in my fitness.
Over my four-plus decades on planet Earth, I’ve been through quite a bit. I’ve been fit and let it go. So I know what it takes to get healthy again. And I know how to take one step at a time to make huge life changes. I’ve had my fair share of nasty injuries and made my way back. I know how dependent I am on staying active and fit and I know the determination it takes to “find a way.”
Over the years I’ve gone from being a crappy eater to a totally healthy eater. I went from being a fast-food lover to someone who loves cooking up great food with real ingredients. You couldn’t pay me to eat fast food nowadays. Heck, I even went vegan a few years back. There’s a change I never imagined I’d make.
Here I am now, in my late-forties and I can say without hesitation, that I am fitter, stronger, healthier and happier than I’ve ever been in my life. My workouts, active living, and healthy eating have everything to do with that. I want this kind of life for everyone. It makes living spectacular and wonderful.
