I know I’ve been MIA for a few days now. I’m blaming my new website Freal Fitness and our recent steps toward moving our home. When we moved the blog over here things got buggy. Isn’t that always the way it is? Something gets lost, gets sucked into the outer reaches of cyber-space, or just plain doesn’t work right. So it was a few days of getting all that cleaned up. Then we just happened to find a great piece of property that seemed just perfect for us. We went ahead and put in an offer and KABAAAM! It got accepted! That resulted in days of craziness (appraisers, inspectors, trips to the planning department, and really getting to spend some quality time with our realtor). And that meant no blog posts. I know it must have shook your world, made you question the meaning of life and generally upset your whole life, but I’m back now.
I have been working out in spite of the whirlwind we’ve been living in. And our dog, Romero, (who has recently been a guest blogger on this site – check out his post) has been all about helping me get active every night after dinner. Did you know that research suggests that people with dogs tend to be more consistent about their exercise? Most of those studies were looking at how people walk and run with their dogs. Those are two great activities that will help keep both you and your pooch sexy, healthy , and happy. Shauna and I do both of those daily with Romero, but I’ve got a doggy-style workout that is even better. (That didn’t sound so good, did it?)
All you need is a crazy dog who gets all jacked up after his dinner and you’ve got a great way to get in a nice after-dinner calorie-burner. My dog loves to have his butt punched. Weird, I know, but it’s true. It’s one of his favorite things. And he loves to have his face play-slapped as well, especially when he’s got a toy in his mouth.
Got a dog? Then you’ve got the best workout buddy ever! Walk him, run her, punch his butt, practice your jabs and crosses (gently) while she holds a toy in her mouth, or just get down there and wrestle with your pooch. What a fun way to get your heart pumping and make (wo)man’s best friend as happy as can be.
